Helping more people go far

11 million people across the UK struggle to secure employment, despite their desire to work.
This is where Clipper Fresh Start comes in.

At Clipper, we have all kinds of jobs for all kinds of people. And we focus less on previous experience than drive and potential. We partner with a variety of charity organisations who support people in removing and overcoming barriers to work.

So whoever you are, and whatever your background, our Fresh Start initiative will help you start a new chapter in logistics.

Julie Cotterill

Hygiene Operative, Sheffield

What is your background?

I spent most of my working life as a childminder before finding a job as a social worker. But when things in my personal life started to go downhill, it became difficult to balance my professional and home life, so I decided to search for a new job.

How did Fresh Start help?

My local jobcentre introduced me to Portland College, where I received pre-employment training to secure a place on Clipper’s Fresh Start initiative. Within weeks, I became a Hygiene Operative at their Pretty Little Thing operation in Sheffield, which remains a valued role – especially during the Covid-19 pandemic.

What are your hopes for the future?

I see myself progressing through Clipper and hope to become a Team Leader in the near future.
